Using the forum: posting, voting, and display mode
Everything you need to start posting like you have been here for years.
Starting a thread
Pick the board that fits your topic, give it a clear title, and write your post in the composer. You can format text, add a link, and drop in photos or video before you publish. Boards are grouped by category in "All the boards," so if you are not sure where something belongs, General Discussion is always a safe start.
Replying, and nested replies
Any reply can be replied to directly, which nests it under the comment it is answering rather than burying it at the bottom of the thread. Use this to keep side conversations organized instead of derailing the main thread. Quotes and mentions make it clear exactly who and what you are responding to.
Voting
Every thread and reply can be upvoted or downvoted, one vote per person per post. Voting is how the community surfaces the good stuff: Hot sorting blends how recent a post is with how it is doing, New shows the latest first, and Top shows the highest-scoring posts. You can change your vote or remove it anytime by clicking it again.
Photos, video, and emoji
The composer supports image and video uploads directly, plus a native emoji picker for reactions in your text. Cat photos are half the reason people come here, so do not be shy about them.
Display Mode
SavCatChat runs in dark mode by default, but you can switch to light, or set it to Auto to follow your system setting, from the display icon in the header. Your choice is remembered on this device, so you only need to set it once.
