Plain-English summary

SavCatChat is a community and advertising marketplace for Savannah cat enthusiasts and breeders. Here is the short version, though the full terms below are what actually governs:

  • You must be 18 or older to make an account.
  • SavCatChat is a place where breeders advertise and community members talk. We are not a party to any kitten sale, we do not process animal transactions, and we never touch deposits, shipping, or the money that changes hands between a breeder and a buyer.
  • You own what you post, but you give us the license we need to display it.
  • We use human moderators assisted by AI tools to help keep things safe.
  • Paid features (supporter tier, breeder ad plans) are billed through Stripe.
  • We can suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules, and you can appeal.
  • Disputes are handled under California law, and this agreement includes an arbitration clause described in Section 15.

Now, the full terms.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account, browsing, posting, advertising, or otherwise using savcatchat.com (the "Site" or "Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. These Terms incorporate by reference our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Community Guidelines, each of which forms part of your agreement with us.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post a notice on the Site or notify registered users. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to register an account, post content, advertise, or make purchases on SavCatChat. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate and current. We reserve the right to request age verification and to terminate accounts that misrepresent age or eligibility.

3. What SavCatChat is (and is not)

This section is important, so we are stating it plainly and again in more detail below.

SavCatChat is an advertising venue and online community. It is not a marketplace operator, broker, agent, or party to any transaction involving the sale, purchase, deposit, reservation, or shipping of any animal.

3.1 The platform's role

SavCatChat provides:

  • A forum for discussion among Savannah cat owners, breeders, and enthusiasts.
  • A directory and advertising space where verified breeders may post listings, photos, and contact information about kittens or cats they have for sale.
  • Community features such as profiles, threads, replies, and messaging.
  • A verification badge program (see Section 3.3) and paid advertising placements.

3.2 What SavCatChat does not do

SavCatChat does not, and does not offer to:

  • Sell, broker, list for sale on its own behalf, or take title to any animal.
  • Accept, hold, transmit, or facilitate deposits, purchase payments, or any funds exchanged between a breeder and a buyer for an animal.
  • Arrange, coordinate, guarantee, or take responsibility for the shipping, transport, or delivery of any animal.
  • Inspect, health-certify, or guarantee the condition, temperament, lineage, legal status, or generation classification of any animal advertised on the Platform.
  • Act as an agent for any breeder or buyer, or otherwise insert itself into the negotiation or completion of any sale.

All transactions for the sale of kittens or cats occur directly and exclusively between the breeder and the buyer. Any payment, deposit, contract, shipping arrangement, or dispute related to such a transaction is solely between those parties. SavCatChat has no visibility into, control over, and no responsibility for the terms, performance, or outcome of any such transaction.

If you are a buyer, you are strongly encouraged to conduct your own due diligence, meet applicable state and local requirements for animal ownership, use a written agreement with the breeder, and never send funds through channels that lack buyer protection. If you are a breeder, you are solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws (see Section 3.4) and for the representations you make in your listings.

3.3 Verification badge

SavCatChat offers a free verification check (including a TICA registration check) that results in a badge displayed on a breeder's profile if they pass. The verification badge is a legitimacy check only. It is not an endorsement, guarantee, warranty, or certification of any breeder, their animals, their business practices, or the outcome of any transaction. A verification badge does not make SavCatChat a guarantor of any sale, and does not create any liability on SavCatChat's part for a breeder's conduct.

3.4 Legal compliance is the breeder's and buyer's responsibility

Savannah cats are subject to varying state, local, and international laws depending on their generation (F1 through later generations) and the jurisdiction involved. Breeders are solely responsible for knowing and complying with the laws of the jurisdictions in which they sell and ship. Buyers are solely responsible for knowing and complying with the laws of the jurisdiction in which they live. SavCatChat does not verify the legality of any specific sale and disclaims all responsibility for a user's compliance or noncompliance with animal ownership laws. 4. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at [support@savcatchat.com] if you suspect unauthorized use. You may not share your account, create an account for someone else without permission, or maintain more than one account for deceptive purposes.

5. User-generated content

5.1 What you can post

SavCatChat allows forum threads, nested replies, rich text, image and video uploads, and profile content ("User Content"). You are solely responsible for the User Content you submit.

5.2 License you grant us

You retain ownership of your User Content. By posting it, you grant PURRSCO LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and adapt your User Content solely for the purposes of operating, promoting, and improving the Platform (for example, displaying a breeder's listing photos to prospective buyers, or showing a forum thread to other members). This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where content has been shared by others, cached, or where retention is required for legal, safety, or moderation records.

5.3 Content standards

You agree not to post content that:

  • Is unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, obscene, or harassing.
  • Infringes another person's intellectual property or privacy rights.
  • Solicits off-platform payment in a way that circumvents verified breeder listings, or otherwise facilitates scams (see our Community Guidelines).
  • Advertises the sale of kittens or cats by a breeder who is not verified and does not hold an active advertising plan.
  • Promotes wild-caught servals for sale, encourages illegal placement of animals, or otherwise violates our animal welfare standards described in the Community Guidelines.
  • Violates any applicable law.

We may remove content, issue warnings, suspend, or terminate accounts for violations of this section or the Community Guidelines, using the enforcement ladder described there.

5.4 Moderation, including AI-assisted moderation

SavCatChat is moderated by a combination of human moderators and AI-assisted tools. AI tools may help flag or filter potentially problematic content (for example, scam patterns or prohibited listings), display scam-alert banners, and support human review of reported content. We disclose plainly that some moderation decisions and flags involve AI assistance, though a human moderator is involved in enforcement actions such as content removal, suspension, or ban decisions on appeal. Moderation, whether human or AI-assisted, is provided on a best-efforts basis and does not guarantee that all violating content will be caught or that all removed content was in fact violating.

5.5 Reporting

Users can report content or other users for violations of these Terms or the Community Guidelines. See the Community Guidelines for the reporting and enforcement process.

6. Paid products and billing

6.1 Member supporter tier

SavCatChat offers an optional member supporter subscription at $2.99 per month, providing supporter perks described on the Site. This is a recurring subscription that renews automatically until canceled.

6.2 Breeder advertising subscriptions

Breeders may purchase advertising subscriptions, including a home-state base plan, additional-state add-ons, and Featured placement upgrades. These are advertising products only. Purchasing an advertising subscription does not make SavCatChat a party to, guarantor of, or participant in any resulting sale. It does not entitle a breeder to bypass verification requirements or Community Guidelines.

6.3 Payment processing

All payments are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. SavCatChat does not store your full payment card details. Your use of Stripe's payment services is subject to Stripe's own terms and privacy policy. Payments related to the actual purchase of a kitten or cat between breeder and buyer are not processed through SavCatChat or Stripe via the Platform. Those payments are arranged directly between breeder and buyer, off-platform, and SavCatChat bears no responsibility for them.

6.4 Refunds, cancellations, and price changes

Subscriptions may be canceled at any time through your account settings, effective at the end of the current billing period unless otherwise stated. Fees already paid are generally non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated at the time of purchase. We may change prices for supporter or advertising tiers with advance notice; continued use after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.

7. Intellectual property

The SavCatChat name, logo, and Site design are owned by PURRSCO LLC. Other than the license granted for User Content in Section 5.2, nothing in these Terms transfers any SavCatChat intellectual property to you.

8. Copyright complaints (DMCA)

If you believe content on SavCatChat infringes your copyright, please send a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to our designated agent:

Your notice should include: (1) a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent, (2) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, (3) identification of the material you claim is infringing and its location on the Site, (4) your contact information, (5) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized, and (6) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act. We will respond to valid notices in accordance with the DMCA, which may include removing content and notifying the affected user, who may submit a counter-notice.

9. California and U.S. privacy rights

Please see our Privacy Policy for details on data collection and use, and for your California privacy rights under the CCPA and CPRA.

10. International and non-U.S. visitors

SavCatChat is operated from and governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws, including laws regarding the import, export, ownership, or sale of animals and animal-derived products in your jurisdiction. We make no representation that the Platform or its content is appropriate or lawful in every location.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or applicable law, or for conduct we determine in good faith is harmful to the Platform or its users. You may also close your account at any time. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 3, 5.2, 7, 12, 13, 14, and 15) will survive.

See the Community Guidelines for the standard enforcement ladder (warning, timeout, ban) and appeals process that applies to Community Guidelines violations specifically. SavCatChat reserves the right to bypass the ladder and terminate immediately for severe violations, including fraud, illegal animal sales, or threats to user safety.

12. Disclaimers; no warranties

THE PLATFORM AND ALL CONTENT, LISTINGS, AND FEATURES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Without limiting the foregoing, SavCatChat makes no warranty regarding: the accuracy or completeness of any breeder listing, profile, or User Content, the health, temperament, lineage, or legal status of any animal advertised on the Platform, the outcome, safety, or legality of any transaction between users, or the results of the verification badge check described in Section 3.3.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PURRSCO LLC, ITS OFFICERS, MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR AN ANIMAL'S HEALTH OR LIFE, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM, ANY USER CONTENT, OR ANY TRANSACTION BETWEEN USERS, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

IN NO EVENT WILL PURRSCO LLC'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE PLATFORM EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO PURRSCO LLC IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory asserted (contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise) and is a fundamental basis of the bargain between you and PURRSCO LLC. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PURRSCO LLC and its officers, members, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or any transaction you enter into with another user, including any dispute related to the sale, purchase, or shipping of an animal.

15. Dispute resolution; governing law

15.1 Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

15.2 Arbitration clause

Whether to include binding arbitration, whether to include a class action waiver, which arbitration provider and rules to specify (for example, AAA or JAMS), and whether California-specific carve-outs are needed (including for claims under the California Arbitration Act, Berman hearings for wage claims if ever relevant, or public injunctive relief claims which California courts have held cannot be waived) are decisions we are leaving entirely to legal counsel. Please confirm enforceability under current California and federal law before this section goes into effect.]

[Placeholder arbitration language, subject to attorney revision:] Except for claims that qualify for small claims court or claims for injunctive relief related to intellectual property, you and PURRSCO LLC agree that any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Platform will be resolved through binding, individual arbitration rather than in court, except as prohibited by law. This section does not require arbitration of claims that, as a matter of California law, cannot be subject to a pre-dispute arbitration agreement.

15.3 Venue for non-arbitrable claims

For any dispute not subject to arbitration, the parties agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California.

16. General provisions

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Community Guidelines, are the entire agreement between you and PURRSCO LLC regarding the Platform.
