1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember information about your visit, such as your preferences or login state. We also use similar technologies (such as local storage) that work in comparable ways, and this policy covers those too.
2. Our three cookie categories
SavCatChat uses exactly three cookie categories, matching the choices presented in our cookie consent banner and settings panel.

These cookies are necessary for the Platform to function and cannot be switched off. They support things like keeping you logged in, remembering items in progress (such as a draft post), maintaining security, and remembering your cookie preferences themselves. Because these cookies are required for the Platform to work, they are not subject to opt-out.
2.2 Analytics cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors use SavCatChat, such as which pages are viewed, how long people stay, and where they encounter errors. We use this information to improve the Platform. Analytics cookies are only set if you consent to them.
2.3 Advertising cookies
These cookies support advertising features on the Platform, including helping display relevant breeder listings and promotions, and measuring the performance of Featured placements and other paid advertising products. Advertising cookies are only set if you consent to them.
3. How consent works
When you first visit savcatchat.com, you will be asked to choose your cookie preferences for the Analytics and Advertising categories. Essential cookies remain on at all times because the Platform cannot function without them.
Your choice is stored client-side (on your own device) so that we can honor your preference on future visits without needing to re-ask every time. You can review or change your preferences at any time by selecting the cookie settings link in the site footer. Changing your preference takes effect for future activity; it does not retroactively delete cookies already placed, though you can also clear cookies through your browser settings.
4. Third-party cookies
Some cookies may be placed by third-party service providers we work with, for example, providers who support analytics or advertising measurement. These providers only receive the categories of data consistent with your cookie preferences. Our payment processor, Stripe, may also use its own cookies or similar technology as part of processing payments; those are governed by Stripe's own policies.

Blocking Essential cookies through your browser (rather than through our settings, since Essential cookies have no opt-out on-site) may prevent parts of the Platform from working correctly, such as staying logged in.
